PS: been to Montauk motels in the summers on and off for years. Used to be all Irish doing the maid service, etc. Now it's all Hispanic.

Oh yes, lots of people put down deep roots here. They start having kids, buying property, getting involved in the community. Even if they end up leaving the neighborhood, they might just move to a suburban town where lots of Irish people live (like Pearl River over in Rockland).

The obvious places for young Irish people as I have stated previously are Woodlawn, Bronx/McLean Ave, Yonkers and Woodside, Queens.

Mead is absolutely correct in this. ALL these areas are strong in Irish.

Also, you can check in Astoria at just about any Irish Pub. I recommend O'Hanlon's on 31st @ Ditmars, and Veronica's off of 33rd Stret in Long Island City.

Be careful though--- Veronica's daughters are all hotties, Laddie!!! Easy way to get necktied, if ya' mess around with 'em!!! LOL!!!
