With the board voting (next week, I think) on next year's rent increases, how do you think it will go?

They'll raise it again, like always. People will complain, old ladies leave the city for florida because they can no longer afford to retire here. Landlord decontrols the apartment, sells it at "market values" and convinces the new young professional tenant that they're in East Williamsburg (bushwick), or SoBro (South Bronx) or whatever.

I think the OP was referring to Albany's vote on bills that would _expand_ rent regulation and tenant protection.

Actually, my most immediate concern was the percentage 1- and 2-year leases would go up, but thank you for posting that article!
