has any1 worked with them or any experience?

pro cons, usefull for career?

I worked with them on a Habitat for Humanity project. Great guys (and girls, mostly girls actually), very motivated, pushed like hell by the habitat guys though. They work off a stipend which honestly isn't enough for this city, though manageable.

As for how it will affect your career, I remember one of them getting a job after their time was finished, and this was in like January when the market was going to hell. The rest though I'm not sure, and over all I have to question just how much volunteering is really worth, though that's just me.

a job with americorps or some outside company?was it service oriented?

they accepted me for civic corps idk if it will be worth it. in the climate i figured,hey its a job but idk

Americorps, and yes it was service oriented. Its Habitat for Humanity, so guess what they spent a year doing? Building homes. If you don't want to break your back and put in a hard day's work almost every day, then don't bother.

My nephew did Americorps for one year between HS and college and he experienced a lot of personal growth.
