Question, Whitestone Queens
Can anyone tell me what the southernmost boundary of Whitestone is? Is it Cross Island Parkway, Willets Point Blvd/25thAve, or Bayside Ave? Google Maps has Cross Island Pkwy being the southernmost boundary and everything underneath it "Browne Park". However wikipedia distinctively says 25th Ave is the southern boundary. Can anyone clear up this contradiction? Is there a Browne Park then and what are its landmark boundaries? Thanks

For one thing, you shouldn't rely so much on Wikipedia--the name of the park is Bowne, not Browne, and it's located on the south side of Bayside Avenue, four blocks below 25th. Here's the thing about neighborhoods throughout New York City: there are very few places where you can definitively say that one street or another is an "official" boundary. By the time you get to Bowne Park, I don't think that many people would consider you to be within Whitestone--that's more like the northern reaches of Flushing.
People will often say that they live in one neighborhood or another depending on which one has the better reputation at the time! Whitestone proper is located at the northern tip of Queens, pretty much between the Whitestone and Throgs Neck Bridges. It really doesn't extend much further south than the Cross Island, although I'm sure that people living anywhere from ten to fifteen blocks below that would tell you that they live in Whitestone.

I believe that Bayside Avenue is the Whitestone/Bayside border.
The intersection with Francis Lewis Boulevard and Willets Point I believe, is considered Whitestone.
I always get confused with the border between Bayside and Auburndale.

Fuhgeddabout neighborhood "borders." Once you get outside the central part of any neighborhood in the city, it becomes a matter of perception. (Here in Brooklyn, you can get people living as far north as Avenue S, even Avenue R, who'll tell you right off that they live in Sheepshead Bay. By the time you get that far from the water, you can say whatever you want to, but it's not Sheepshead Bay. The same thing applies in Queens, trust me).

Ok so "Bowne Park" is an actual "park". But from real estate websites etc I have seen it referred to as an official neighborhood. Maybe thats some of my confusion.

Anything in 11357 is Whitestone. Including the 10-15 blocks South of the Cross Island... West of 149th St, the Southern boundary is Willets Pt. Blvd. East of 149th St, the Southern boundary is 25th Ave to Utopia. I have also seen Browne Park on Google Maps, and I believe it's a mistake. Because I live 5 blocks north of the supposed "Browne Park" neighborhood and I have never heard of it... They might of got it confused with Bowne Park and the silly real estate companies believe it. They'll do ANYTHING for money... LONG LIVE WHITESTONE! ... BROWNE WHO?
