4 out of 10 Best-Performing Malls in US are in Metro NYC Area
I thought this was an interesting read, regarding worst-performing and top-performing malls in the US.
Looks like 4 of the top 10 best-performing malls in the country, are in the NYC area--2 on Long Island and 2 in NJ. See link below:

What's remarkable is that Garden State Plaza does that business, even with no transactions on Sunday. Short Hills, I agree, is the best on the list in the NYC region.

Yes, they're both attached to Long Island, but when someone says Long Island, they're usually referring to Suffolk and Nassau county.... NOT Queens or Brooklyn.

I agree that people from Queens and BK don't like for people to know that they live on that land that is part of Long Island.
And that people from Suffolk and Nassau don't like people to know that the city takes up a good 1/4th of their suburban play ground.
That being what it is; Long Island still is home to them all.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's in Queens--been to Queens Ctr many times. But, as others have said, Queens is "on" Long Island. That's what I meant.
