Kew Garden Hills? That is only a place in realtor-speak, Georgetown Mews are in Flushing just south of Queens College and a few blocks from the Paumanok Projects. This is a working class area that is racially mixed. There is a property crime issue to deal with in that area. It is near housing projects and not within walking distance of the subway.

To be fair, Pomonok Houses aren't very project-like at all.. most people don't even realize that they're projects until they're told. You don't really have any reason to walk in that direction either. The thing I don't like about this place, from when I used to attend QC, is that there's not really much there. There's only like two or three places to eat, and it seems like you'd be better off with a car. The area is about a 15 minute bus ride in several directions.

Thank you for your response. I am drawn to it because it is racially mixed.

if this is the place that i'm thinking about on jewel avenue, then i am very familiar with the area. place always seems quiet, night or day. pomonok is not going to be an issue, its actually one of the safer housing projects in the city, and its far enough from georgetown mews that you wont even see it.

I visited the area at night and I got a good vibe. I am a little concerned about the square footage. I'm not used to living in a space that it so small. I wish that I could afford a two bedroom detached house.

Pomonok is ok, never had a problem with it, used to walk my 3 babies in a stroller and cut thru the projects to get to Met food AND nobody EVER bothered me.
