The taste of Dunkin Donuts' coffee has changed in many areas. It is no longer as good as it used to be..............

Dunkin went more mainstream rather than coffe and donuts.
WAY back when, my mother worked at an old DD. Theyhad rules like "15 minutes and dump it". You were never allowed to keep the coffee on for longer than 15 minutes.
I don't believe theyhad all the flavors back then. I don't even know if they had Decaf! The thing is, they DID have a fresh pot tehre always. Now with all the flavors? You can't keep dumping when you have that many pots to choose from. That and most places not making their own doughnuts...
BTW, I heard TH bought itself back from Wendy's. Can anyone confirm this?

I think most of the flavored coffee that DD has is made with that syrup. It hink the only flavors they brew are vanilla and hazelnut.

It's natural most franchises lose something as they get bigger. McD's was much better in the 80's. Subway was better when it started out. Starbucks coffee tasted way better before (I seriously don't even understand how people consider the average cup served there now to be good coffee and let's not even talk about what they pay for it).

Ahh Krisy Kreme, yet another example of a franchise that started out quite well and went way down.

I moved up to Amherst a year ago w/my kid. Our apt is right across the street from a Tim Horton's. It didn't take long before he got addicted to the donuts and i got addicted to the cookies.

The last few times I had Dunkin I actually liked the coffee a lot. I feel the coffee has actually gotten better. I read a lot of business mags and I read somewhere that they changed their approach a few years ago to focus more on the coffee and other menu items and less on the Donuts.

You do realize that most bodegas and whatnot just brew packs of coffee beans...there is nothing magic about it...so they could possibly be using Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks beans since they can be bought from them...or even an unknown company.
I don't understand the hate toward Starbucks and the thinking that the local bodega or diner makes better coffee, when it is just someone brewing coffee grounds with hot water in a pot. HELP??!
