The chief is reporting the are calling T/Os off the promotional list. Looks like they are going up to 608 out of the 800 on the list. My guess is they are going to start calling from the open list at some point in the first half of next year, but that's just a guess.

The Chief is really not the most accurate source, a TSS posted on NYCT
forums that a conductor is going for his medical in the next T/O class
and his list number is in the lower 300's. Going to be awhile before they start calling from the O/C list.

While I don't doubt that the chief isnt the greatest source, they are saying they are calling "eligibles between Nos. 185 and 608 on List 8562 for 100 jobs at NYC Transit." Thats exactly in-line with what was posted.

Hey guys new to the board and hopeful T/O in the future. Im on the NYT Forum as well and very good info over there, last I saw was they are only on list# 197 off the Promo for T/O and I see here that they are much higher than that any clearification on this?? I hope they are right on here haha. I got a list number of 599 on the O/C Test.

Also with the Pre Employment part does the MTA for T/O position look at your Credit History like so many other companies do now?? I rather know now and take care of any bills I have while I still got time appreciate the help guys

What they'll do to you (as they did to me and everyone else who gets hired as a Conductor or Train Operator) is fingerprint you and send the prints over to the FBI...because you're being hired in what's classified as a "safety sensitive" job, in front of the public. They don't really care about your credit history. You'll also be subject to random drug testing.

Cool thanks Fred

Also I saw on The Chief website the same thing mentioned 306 eligibles from list# 187 to #602 for 100 positions, could sum1 clarify that for me as to what that exactly means?? Does it mean out of the list#s between those numbers 306 ppl qualify for the job and they are now going to take 100 out of the 306 qualifiers?? If this is the case does this mean they would in a sense be at list# 602 and what of the other 206 ppl that qualified would they just be in line for the next round of hirees??

Im assuming this is the 1 - 3 rule and would this rule apply to the O/C List as well??

I appreciate the answers in advance as you can tell im eager to start a new career haha

Hello all, and ive been reading this thread for about 1 month now, and finally joined. hope everyone is ok. I just recently signed up for the Stock worker exam ( in june 2011) and took the test on sept 14th. I took home the answer key and reviewed my test. I got 5 wrong out of 50. which should equal to a 90%. just wondering or if anyone can answer, how long do you guys think the hiring process would/willl be? thanks so much .

That is correct, and that fingerprint fee is $94.25 which will be automatically deducted from your paycheck once you are hired.

"Some titles may require additional processing fees."
But it doesn't say what those are.

If they don't care about your credit history then why is there a sheet
that you have to sign which authorizes them to pull your consumer report?

By the way, Yale Associates runs the background checks for transit.
