There are alot of gang fights in Fordham. I don't see why he has to deny it. He said both the good and the bad.
BTW, I love this thread. It's a classic.

Oh yes, a classic it is. I think on page 7 I made my city-data.com debut last June/July.

You will be surprised to know the amount of drug dealing that goes on in teh so called "nice areas". it's just well hidden. It doesn't mean it's not there. It's not like murphy from the central park west, drives to valentine or bainbridge in fordham to get his drugs.

Yeah but the guy from central park west is probably using a delivery service run by some guy from bainbridge, or a dealer whose product came through such a neighborhood at some point. Drug related killings are alot more common in poor neighbohoods, something which rarely happens among middle and upper class users.

If you think dealers in the UWS/UES or whatever well off areas get their own product then you would be mistaken. They know where to get them from. I think the 3 most well known drug neighborhoods Uptown are Washington Heights, Fordham-Bedford and Soundview. These are tops, even though drugs are plentiful in Harlem and the Bronx. Also I still find it hard to picture a drug dealer in the UWS but whatever.

There's dealers in the UES, UWS but the way they do their business is completely different. It's not some thug on a corner looking obvious.
Anyway, how did this thread get resuscitated again lol

Then one wonders why there are so many Murphies seen scoring in the Bronx.
The difference between the Bronx and the UES is so obvious that it is absurd to even debate it.

Van Cort Village
Recently there was a drug bust very close to my co-op on Sedgwick Ave.
they seized 8 kilos of Heroin, 9 loaded guns and a variety of drug parahernalia.
The heroin was worth about half million dollars, the weapons found included a Mac 11 that fires 1,200 rounds per minute. The two arrested lived in a well maintained apt building overlooking the Jerome Park Reservoir.
So I would agree that in the best of neighborhoods you can find drugs, dealers and whatever else. BTW, neighbors noticed increased people coming into the building but do not want to get involved. So if the neigbors ignored what they saw, they are helping the problem, anyone could have picked up the phone and called the 50th, but they choose to look the other way.
