gday guys and girls.
im a typical young aussie guy but before i setle down and start a career in australia, i have a burning urge inside of me to visit, stay, live and possibly work in New York City.
whether its TV, Movies or Music that has done this to me i dont care. first thing i think about when i wake up and last thing i think about when i go to sleep.
my problem is though with out ne qualifications, or relatives that live in nyc. what would be the best way to try and hunt out a job in retail, security, ne thing, i would un load trucks of fruit and veg if it meant i get to stay in nyc for maybe 2 to 3 months!
im thinking that renting a place would be to dificult but maybe a hotel room? im only young and dont have many needs so a one room shack with no view is fine for me lol
ne one who has some time on there hands and info that could help me out would just be the best thing.
thanks guys hope to hear from some one soon
yours truely luke

Before you look in that sticky, go to the US consulate and ask about how long it'll take to get a green card. You're welcome here, if you come here legally.

Maybe you should check into finding someone looking to rent a room in their house/apartment. That would probably be the easiest way to go for the short term.

Also, you won't need a green card for now, just a visa. Just be sure not to let it expire.

G'day mate!

You cannot work legally in NYC on a tourist visa. If you're caught you will be deported and not permitted to return. EVER.

A cheap place to stay for a visit is the Vanderbilt Y: YMCA of Greater New York: Manhattan NYC Hostels near Grand Central | Vanderbilt Guest Rooms .
