Default walmart in nyc.

well i was born and raised in nyc, went upstate for college and learned of this creature called walmart. it was amazing, i came back to nyc and was sad when i realized there none in nyc. wel anyway walmart has been spying nyc for a long time, and word has it there is a real possibility it might come to union square to take over cicuit city or virgin mega. are there any other nycers that would welcome wallyworld to the city. i always that it was kinda unfair the bias toward walmart in nyc that is held to no other company.

They should open Walmarts in NYC especially around the lower income areas. There is a Walmart 2 miles away from me right over the Queens/Nassau border and they get a lot of business especially from the middle and low income people of Southeast Queens.

Walmart doesn't operate in NYC because of the terrible benefits that it's employees get, and other things. There's a long list of reasons why NYC won't allow a Walmart to open here. Personally... I don't really care, there's other stores here that have basically the same things, and it's inconsequential what the name of the store is, but to each's own.

Well they do not bring walmart to NYC, because it will close other stores. Being that Walmart has everything in one store

walmart has trouble finding locations big enough and affordable enough in nyc.... they were going to go into rego park but opposition from local businesses killed the location.... there really isnt much suitable for them in most areas of the city

There is alot of opposition to Walmart in NYC from various business owners scared they will be put out of business. I think it would be a good thing to move Walmart to NYC. It will be a good place for middle and low income working people to shop. I occasionally drive to the one in Valley Stream to stock up on things.

everyone complains about walmarts low wages but the way i see it even low wages are better then no wages...they bring jobs.....

the wages and benefits probley beat working at the local pizzaria or candy shop..... these are the types of jobs and leval of skills people are comparing against when they complain about the pay.... middle to upper mangagment as well as their skilled labor make fairly decent pay.. its the floor people compensation that everyone moans about but forgets what the alternatives are at the local grocerystore or pizza place where the pay and no benefits are way worse usually

They bring jobs is a terrible excuse for an underlying problem. They eliminate jobs because of the businesses they destroy, and they are low wages, especially when the businesses before it probably paid higher. Plus people weren't begging for jobs in the first place. This is the same nonsense that Marty Markowitz was spouting when he first started cheerleading the nets stadium. Sure it will "bring jobs" but who cares if they're house is bulldozed to create the stadium.

Why would you need a Walmart in NYC? You can find almost everything you need just walking down the street.

Because Wal Mart is one-stop shopping with almost everything you could need for much lower prices.
