Thanks so much everyone, I ultimately decided against it. Real estate agents can be real scum. I'm looking at places in Greenpoint now, really diggin' it.

With that statement, you put yourself in contention for the Understatement of the Decade Award.

Not one? 'BoCoCa'? Sheepshead Bay? Brooklyn Heights? Dyker Heights?

I don't know what your definition of sketchy is. But Bayridge, Brooklyn Heights, Dyker Heights, Mill Basin, Sheepshead Bay, and Gerritsen Beach are not even remotely resembling anything dangerous or "hood". Is it just me or is Brooklyn always getting a bad rap on these forums. The vast majority of Brooklyn is and always has been a decent area. Brooklyn is very diverse. Diversity does not equal ghetto!

I'm a white 23 year old female. I've lived in that area for almost a year now and I've never had any problems. Many times I'll come home late at night and walk home very safely.

Shhhh...it's a secret! Brooklyn doesn't actually live down to its reputation. Don't be too quick to give the information away--this way, we can keep things to ourselves.
