Damn, I accidently filled out yes without looking. Anyway, I don't think this will ever happen in NYC. If it did, there really would be no middle ground. It could either go very well or very bad & really I could easily it going very bad.

Whoa, so they are just kicking out low income residents, thats disgusting to me.

I don't think it would happen in NYC unless they assist people in finding another place to live and subsidize the rent which I doubt would happen anytime soon.

PLEASE DO!!!!

Tear that ugly crap down that does nothing but encourage the cycle of poverty. The welfare set who refuses to stop having babies and paying market rent should be given a free plane ticket out of New York (like that homeless program) and barred from entering the city in the future until they can actually afford to stop leeching off of the government and start paying taxes like a productive person of society.

No. Chicago tore down a lot of its public housing, and NYC didn't follow suit.. so I doubt it will in this case either.

So this is what you think of every person who lives in the projects?

Public housing is mostly looked at as a failure. I would not be shocked if they opt for some gradual phasing out...

Trustfundhipster fails to realize that the poor are essential for the function of the city. That's why this city is being allowed to manifest itself as a city of the rich and poor. In fact, destroying the projects will just mean that the city will be further sectionalism, with MORE areas of the city being defined by the yuppies and hipsters as being "the ghetto" rather than the areas becoming filled with the rich.

If you destroy the projects, then your just going to seal the demise of the city, and those people have to live somewhere, and somehow I doubt that trustfundhipster would be too enthused with the city setting up mini-projects in Williamsburg and the sort where there's tons of abandoned property for the city to complete and use to house the poor.
