Default Bronx subway stops, late night

My fiance has to do a late night commute via the 2 train through the Bronx. At some point he needs to jump on the 4 or 5. Which stop is safer Grand Concourse or the 180th Street stop? Or are there any inbetween that are better? Or is it best to ride the 2 all the way into the city?

Thanks very much.

Tell him to switch at 149th street grand concourse. Police are there. Police are also there at 180th also. Both are safe

Switch at 149st, the 4 train does not stop at 180st (different line) the only station where he will have the option of choosing between the 4 or the 5 is at Grand Concourse.

If it's late at night, he won't be able to make a transfer to the #5 at East 180th--that line runs as a shuttle between 180th and Dyre overnights, and doesn't go into Manhattan. The best possible move would be to take the #2 all the way into the city.
