My husband is just looking into different jobs around the city. We are young. Have a little one. We want a safe but hip (cafes, interesting restaurants, art galleries etc) and a one bedroom with den or 2 bedroom for 2,000-2,500. Any ideas if anything would be good between Bronxville (Yonkers) and Union Station? If not, we'll look at other jobs. Thanks!

Union Station? Do you mean Grand Central? The only Union Stations I know of around here are in D.C. and Philadelphia.

Or did you mean Union Square, the park in Greenwich Village around 14th street or so?

Yonkers to Grand Central? You might as well just say western hemisphere.

I can only think of upper east side, and with your budget more on the upper side. You basically are looking into east 80s or 90s, go too high and you might find yourself in east harlem and I wouldn't call that safe exactly. You can find something the way the market currently is.

Good one sxr71.

I think the OP might consider a bit of online searching re: NYC, aside from this excellent forum of course
