Disregard the title, actually i'm looking at an apt tomorrow about a block away from the Lormier L subway stop. How's the area in terms of safety and amenities? I know its in Williamsburg but i'm not familar with anything else besides the area around the Bedford stop.

Thanks

The rule of thumb is that anything within the first three stops on the L train in Williamsburg is fine - safe and mostly hipster territory. However, the Lorimer stop is right next to the BQE. So if your apartment overlooks the BQE, it will be noisy and dirty (I would imagine).

Crest Hardware is nearby - can't get much better than that!

Thanks, it will be in a brand new converted condo building that couldn't sell so now they're apartments. Hopefully it wasn't built too cheaply so that the noise is blocked out.

Well, I checked out the area today, there were a few stores but the area is pretty ugly and gritty, but it seemed safe. I'm going to check out 2 units weds so the units better be awesome for us to live there(brand new condo buildings with W/D,Dishwasher). Oh well, its Williamsburg and a good location relatively. Its about a 10 minute walk to Bedford but the Hipster scene isn't for us. I think Long Island City in Queens or the UES is a better fit for us.
