Default Question about lease

My boyfriend lease states it is for the tenant plus one occupant. Should he inform the management company that I am the one occupant?

Not if he thinks he might want to change the "other occupant" occasionally during the course of his lease.

The thing is the building has a special key pad, so he was thinkign of just telling them he lost his keys so they would give him a new set. But I didnt know if he told them I was the occupant would they want to run my credit score and raise the rent.

That's a strange lease, but probably honesty would be the best policy. And I don't think they can raise the rent either, unless it's some sort of Section 8 deal or something like that.

That question can only be answered by reading the lease. Generally, an "occupant" is not subject to the terms and conditions of the lease, only the leaseholder. In many cases, the occupant is a child.

Again, this is general advice, because you must read the lease, but occupant clauses usually just seek to limit the number of the people who can live in the apartment, to prevent overcrowding.
