Indoor shopping complexes in NYC?
Are there large, indoor complexes with many stores and restaurants...etc. in NYC? Like a city mall?

Yes, there's the Queens Center Mall (large) and the Shops at Columbus Circle (small). For the most part malls in NYC are quite uncommon.

There is also the Atlantic Center in downtown Brooklyn, which is mall-like.
Also in Brooklyn is King's Plaza, which is built very much in the pattern of a typical large mall, but from the point of view of someone in Manhattan, it is far enough out in the southeast Brooklyn hinterlands to be practically in the suburbs.

The Queens Center Mall is quite large. There is also the small Manhattan Mall near Macys in the city.

There's also the Staten Island Mall, but most of Manhattan shopping consists of free-standing department stores, many of them flagships for their respective chains, and boutiques. As opposed to malls, the city has shopping streets/districts for many stores that one might find in a mall, with numerous malls in the surrounding area.

And, of course, there's the mall at Herald Square in Manhattan, right across from Macy's.

When my nephew visited NYC for the first time this summer, as we were walking down Broadway near Prince St. in SOHO and his first impression was "This looks like an outdoor mall..."

So the typical mall that you would find elsewhere across the nation that are here would be:
Manhattan: Manhattan Mall(minus the parking)
Brooklyn: Kings Plaza
Queens: Queens Center Mall
Staten Island: Staten Island Mall
The Bx borough: ?

The closest thing to a mall in The Bronx would be Bay Plaza in Co-Op City or the new Gateway Plaza in the South Bronx, but they're not enclosed.

I think the best though is the Staten Island Mall. There is many stores, it has more variety. Shopping in Manhattan is nice but it can get really crowded.
