So I've been looking at places in LIC and it seems to have more new construction units at reasonable prices (less than $2000 for studio/1-BR) than any other areas. The one downside it seems is the lack of amenities nearby. I'm OK with that.

Are there any other neighborhoods with a lot of new construction & close to Manhattan?

Greenpoint BK has some new construction as well, that's where were moving to, a brand new building. Better Amenities than LIC, but on the G train which some people hate.

When I lived in Greenpoint I always used the L train/Bedford Av stop. The G train blows.

None of these places are as convenient as LIC.

Also, there are more amenities in LIC than you might imagine. Especially as you get closer to the river.

Thanks everyone. If I get the job (I find out on Monday or Tuesday), the office is at 58th & Lexington, so Brooklyn is a bit too far. I've been seeing new renovations pop up on Craigslist in the UES for pretty reasonable rates too.
