Yup, it's about nine years old. Most of us living here have seen it. Several times.
Well, I am one of the people in the NYC metro area that has not seen the documentary. Also, thanks to the original poster for letting me know about this. I will be sure to check it out.
Agree that it's a terrific documentary. Where are you that you happened to see it? Was it on PBS in another city? I've always wondered how widely that documentary was shown.
Like your Margaret Bourke-White photographs, by the way.
I haven't sat through an entire 16-hour marathon of the documentary, but I have seen the entire thing at least once -- and there are some segments that I've viewed multiple times. It's definitely worth watching.
I bought it from Amazon, I had to get it sent to my Sister in NYC, then she forwarded it on to me as they wouldn't send it to the UK. I must say it was worth the wait!
I would strongly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it!
P.S how crazy are the workers who built the sky scrappers! no safety rope!

It was called
"New York" with Rick Burns.
Amazing!
I haven't seen it. Catchy title
I have seen the one that they show on Discovery or the History Channel that shows what lies beneath the city--the subway system, the water tunnels, the utilities. It's really cool. Especially when the guy says an earthquake here is a matter of when, not if, and goes into what will happen.
