Default Verrazano bridge traffic: which direction worse?

I'm thinking of living in Bay Ridge and commuting to my new job on Staten using the bridge. Is the traffic any better going from Brooklyn to Staten in the morning, and back to Brooklyn after work?

I'm curious if more people live on Staten and are coming into the city to work than the opposite.

I haven't commuted to Staten Island but most people are going into the city not out of the city to work. I have relatives that live there and they commute out not in.

I don't take the Verazzano at all, but definitely more people go into the city to work than out of the city to Staten Island.

Good luck.

If you work during the day you should be good. There is way less traffic going to Staten Island in the morning then vice versa. You should be good for the evening rush hour too because most of the traffic is commuters returning to Staten Island and Jersey. The weekends, especially Saturday ,can be different. On Saturday afternoons it can be backed up in both directions.
