Congrats on getting accepted to Bronx Community College, I hope you enjoy your two years or your four years thats if your in the nursing program. The college is ok nothing good or bad about it. Best thing about Bronx Community College is that its affordable and its really and its a good place to explore what career fields intrests you. Occasionally movie productions go to Bronx Community College to film around the campus. Most Notable is the KC and Jojo Video all my Life, THe Siege with Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington and The Blue Shepard with Angelina Jolie who I met when they were filiming the movie at BCC when I was attending. So keep your eye out. Also a tid bit Bronx community college use to by NYU and also some components for the nuclear test bomb which was a prototype which was used on hiroshima and nagasaki were built at Bronx Community College during the final stages of WW2.

As for the Surronding area? The surronding area next to the campus its self is safe but off the surronding areas its quite dangerous especially around summertime when lots of youths are outside causing trouble and winter when its gets dark early so keep your gaurd up or just mind your business. THe nieghborhood surronding Bronx Community College is called Unversity Hieghts and the Dominant ethnic group out there are the Dominicans with small numbers of blacks to the south by mt eden projects and with pockets of puerto ricans. The only way to get there by transportation is the 4 train off of burnside avenue but walking up that hill to BCC can be a problem. IF your driving BCC has plenty of student parking and the campus itsself is right not far from the Deegan Expressway.

All sorts of people go there, but If I remember correctly bronx community college was mostly women and majority of them were single parents going through either divorce or a boyfriend splitting or a lover in jail. As for demographics, its heavly hispanic with most of the student body being Dominican, thats where I picked up the Dominican accent with out ever going to DR. They are other groups aswell but you can find whatever suits your click!

As for gay men yeah but these guys are in the closet, hopefully your into Latino men because thats what you will basically find out there.

On a side note winter time at BCC is horrible, cold classrooms, and outside has some of the gustiest wind in the Bronx because of the campuses elevation.
