No the area I was in was not filipino or asian...it was spanish. I know not all spanish areas are bad, but this was resembling of Spanish Harlem. I'm not 100% sure it was Jackson heights, but I ended up there b/c I got off the subway @ the wrong stop and asked a construction worker where I was and he told me it was Jackson Heights.

R train go there?

lol the construction worker lied to you.

You were in Woodside at 65th St & Broadway off the R train.

65th St is not the best area. Alot of the crime in Woodside happens around here.

The area is mostly Dominican, Mexican, and Asian.

As you head down south towards Roosee it becomes heavily Filipino and Mexican

i just finished looking for apartments... i began in Sunnyside and woodside, and realized that 1200 is not going to get you much. if you are working in manhattan splur for hte extra 100 a month and move to manhattan. you can get a decent sized studio in a nice aparment on the east side for 1350

Ditmas Park in Brooklyn or Jackson Heights in Queens. Both have very nice historical districts.
