I'm sure those of you who live in Manhattan would vomit all over the idea of a Wal-Mart opening up, but I know a lot of people in Brooklyn and the Bronx who could really use those jobs.

But, we wouldn't want your precious island to be sullied by an un-hip retailer, so we'll just let them stay unemployed and not offer jobs and discount prices to people that badly need them.

People like me in Brooklyn already know well about the Walmart in Valley Stream, and many Brooklynites that really do want a Walmart just go there. Everyone else just goes to the local stores or to one of the Target stores. Not everyone in Brooklyn is poor, not everyone in Brooklyn would consider employment in Walmart. If anything, you should feel bad for looking down on Brooklyners to think that they would be so desperate for a Walmart to set up shop.
