In yet another burst of madness from mayor de Boob's administration the city is going to issue "thousands" of parking placards DOE employees, however the number of reserved parking spaces will not increase. So all those teachers, administrators, janitors, etc... will simply begin taking up any available parking on streets near public schools.
Given how early they have to get in, I don't know if that's as big an advantage as you think it might be, especially depending on timing of ASP in the neighborhood. Does it allow them to park on the avenues without feeding the muni meters? If not, they'll still have problems finding spots to use the placards in.
Really I think construction no parking zones, and the citibike racks are a bigger parking problem.
Sadly it is looking like Bloomberg's third term election all over again.
Plenty of people run their mouths about how "horrible" BdeB is but when it comes election day suddenly they have better things to do.
While nothing is over until it is over; it is looking like de Boob will easily win another term.
Again partially thanks to term limits I shouldn't wonder. Those who would seriously take on a run for NYC mayor are likely to wait until the current holder of that office is term limited out, rather than challenge an incumbent.
Scott Stringer wants to be mayor so badly he can taste it. He will be term limited out of comptrollers office after a second term, and is all but sure to run for mayor.
Term limits was supposed to bring change and so forth to NYC politics. Not a bit of it; things are now more like a game of musical chairs. Those term limited out of one office look around for another, and every eight years the same old faces swap seats.
The James woman is certainly going to run for something after being term limited out of public advocate. Current city council speaker is term limited out this year, but is widely rumored to be considering a run for mayor in 2021.
