I noticed that while it is a small number, Brownsville was just under 4% White according to the 2000 census. So, they are there. I wonder if they are older Jews that just stayed, White "Hispanics" or what?

Why do they automatically assume a white person is an easy target? I dont know what you are getting at by that? Black people are just as racist as white people are.

So I guess what you're saying is that even though black people and white people are equally racist, that black people are more likely to act on their racist feelings than white people are?

Brownsville is a lot worse of an area then bensonhurst is therefore anyone would have a lot more problems there. Did I say that black people are more likely to act on their racism then whites are?

Thank you henna. I appreciate the bensonhurst/brownsville comparisons, but I was not asking about brownsville, I was asking if there would be any hostility toward a woman of color in bensonhurst.

Dont worry I dont think anyone will give you a hard time. I would though do what was advised from another poster and go check out the area stores and the neighborhood and then have dinner at a restaurant. You will no instantly if you are comfortable in the area.

I would like to add: Unfortunately racism still exists in all races but I think for the most part peoples views have changed and they left the ignorant ways behind.
