I agree but to add, a lot of LIC is gritty covered with graffiti with an industrial feel just like much of Williamsburg. They both have a lot of condo/apartment developments however, LIC seems to have a higher occupancy(according to my real estate friends). The waterfront area of Hunters point is more upscale and has more yuppies as there are hardly any hipsters over there. Williamsburg is opposite, mostly (younger)Hipsters with less Yuppies but with a lot more vacant and half-finished condos.
