Ok so im planning a trip to NYC. I know my way around pretty well from random trips when I lived in the area. I want to know streets in the city that have lots of bars, people walking around, etc etc...basically just a lively place at night.

Im used to st. marks, mcdougal, bedford ave in Brooklyn, and vernon blvd in Queens. Im thinking maybe broadway in Queens, east tremont in the Bronx but last time I was there it didnt seem like there was anyting going on at night. Is there anything similiar to any of the spots i mentiond especially st.marks and mcdougal?

Im trying to show some out of state friends a good time. Also can someone tell me spots in the outer boroughs? I wouldnt want to show them just Manhattan but feel free to give other areas there too.

thank you all who respond

5th ave in park slope is decent with many good all around bars good beer, but somewhat hipsterish though

roosevelt ave in queens(70's-80's) is fun for me because its street carts(excellent food) at night and good latin bars with a fun crowd

if its nice out and you like long walks with a little booze in your system you can walk from there all the way to gallagher's 2000(a strip club) near sunnyside/lic near roosevelt ave/queens bvld

I second that suggestion...Delancey, Houston, & Bowery always have something going on.

As far as the outer boroughs, there's Austin St in Queens (right off 71st & Continental). In the Bronx, E Tremont west of Southern Blvd is usually jumping on weekends, esp. holiday weekends, but a lot of the spots are pretty ghetto/hole-in-the wall. Jerome Ave has a few latin bars/lounges you might wanna check out as well, but personally you'll probably have better luck roaming on Broadway or Dyckman St in the heights.
