I am coming in tomorrow to see the hockey game which is at 1 tomorrow from Bridgeport.

Here a few questions.

1) What time does the arena open and do warm-up start for a 1 PM game?
2) What time should I arrive at Grand Central to get there in time to see warm-ups?
3) Should I walk or subway from Grand Central to MSG?
-How long of a walk?
-How long of a subway ride...and what lines go there?
-How do you get from the metro-north to subway line of Grand Central?

Thanks

The walk is almost a mile, which takes 15 to 20 minutes, depending on your speed.

If you want to take the subway, when you get to Grand Central you'll see above some of the archways in the station "SUBWAY 4/5/6/7 SHUTTLE" or something like that. Follow those signs and when you get to the subway area head to your right, following the gray "S," until you reach the shuttle. The shuttle only has 1 other stop (thus the name). When you get off, follow the signs for the 1/2/3 and take a downtown 1 train to Penn Station (also 1 stop). It might take almost the same amount of time as walking, but if the weather's lousy or you're feeling lazy, go for it.

Walk east from the grand hall of Grand Central, following those Subway 4/5/6/7/S signs, you turn right at one of the hallways and the subway entrance is on the left and down. Catch that S then transfer to 1- should take 25 min from the time you step off the MNR.

I'd arrive at Grand Central around 1130a-1145a to see warmups because it takes time to get up to the seats at MSG too.
