have you seen it? Thought it would have a few people in it, but there are over 20,000. The $200,000 question is: are they all really New Yorkers or are some of the WANNABEs and TRANSPLANTS ?

Lol, everyone I know is in that group.. it's not supposed to be a serious statement... and like someone else said, it's Facebook, plenty of worse stuff.

If you "tweet" on Twitter, what do you do on Facebook? "Fritter?" In any case, Facebook and New York City--two mutually exclusive phenomena!

Fritter -- good one!

But I don't see NYC and Facebook as being mutually exclusive at all. In fact it's a great way to see what events people in my NYC facebook network are attending, and to attend as well if something sounds interesting. It's also a great way to keep up-to-date with what's going on with people that I might only see once a month or less.

If you use it and your facebook friends are only posting what they're cooking for dinner or other useless info, then I guess I can see why it wouldn't be worthwhile. But if used properly it actually can be quite an amazingly powerful social and social networking tool!
