Well, well, I'm shocked the Bronx is actually in the lead. I thought Brooklyn would blow the Bronx of the water with this pole!

With that, I have to say The Bronx! I might be a little biased because the Bronx is my hometown but I do have love for Brooklyn.

However, the Bronx honestly has really beautiful and cheap places to reside. You have Pelham Bay, Pelham Parkway, Morris Park, Allerton Avenue Parkchester which is getting better all the time and some other places Bluedog mentioned that have very cheap rent in comparison to other neighborhoods and have plenty of shops, restuarants, bars and the train or bus is always close by for a trip to any other the other boroughs.

Also, Mott Heaven and some parts of Hunts Point are up-and-coming. Overrall, despite contrary belief the Bronx is very safe and very cheap.

DO NOT listen to this fool. He/she probably never stepped foot in the Bronx and even if they did probably only went to the ghetto area. See the areas which mentioned for yourself. I highly recommend Pelham Bay.

I love Queens but geez-Louise! Nice way to throw both boroughs under the bus.

Her mom chose to move with her family rather than be with me but that's another story. The reason I want to move to nyc is because I have always wanted to live there sence I was 5 years old. When I have been there the energy is crazy and I no being there my motivation would be odee. I just want a fresh start I love the eastcoast. I just wanna start my adult life and eventually a family in newyork. I want to be consindered a newyorker 20 years from now

If ur gonna live in NY. Bronx is the more affordable borough. Personally, I hate the Bronx b/c Im a BK girl all the way. The one thing NY has is alot of oppoutunities and I had no degree and was able to find work all the time. Use ur oppourtunites and who u know to move up. U have to know how to play the game out here and get as much experience as u can. Plus, NY is very good for people with kids and college. U can get grants and fin aid for days. If you work hard, you can do pretty well for yourself but I wont lie it will be hard.

Good luck

'Mott Heaven' isn't up-coming except a small number of people that moved to one street: Bruckner Blvd. Other than that it's just the hood, and one of the worst in the borough.

Hehe...oh come on pookie. Are you saying the only good part of Mott Haven are the 30 whites that live in the clocktower? Really? I challenge you to actually come to Mott Haven/Melrose/Concourse etc, and see how much has changed and IS changing. New parks, new trees, new luxury housing, new affordable housing, new mainstream retailers, new restaurants, lots of bike lanes, newly accessible waterfront, and lots of new faces. If you think the only thing good about Mott Haven is 2 blocks on Bruckner blvd, you don't know anything about the community.
