Oh, ye, them bad old Ruskies!
I'll take 'em any time over black gangs of Brighton Beach and Coney Island of 60's&70's.
MS13 is on Staten Island;
Italian mob is dead as Italians of Bensonhurst, Howard beach, Bayridge, etc. are dying out.

There really should be no reason for the Italian mafia circa 2018. Even mobsters tried to make sure their kids were educated and choosing a different path vs. their parents (who were likely 1st/2nd gen immigrants). Just like the Irish mafia, no more. The off spring of "White" mobsters were able to come into political power in this country - as well as legitimate corporate positions - so just not necessary.

Not to be racist, but AA's, Hispanics and Asians (some) really haven't broken those barriers in large numbers - so you'll likely see "mob" activity in those communities continue for a few more decades to come.

The mafia got wiser, some are now union members, or state/city government employees while others own some good real estates, nightclubs, or restaurants, or have made good investments. Others still do their petty crimes such as pimping, blackmail, scams, ect...

When you think about it, they've been everywhere from NYC, Vegas, their presence is very visible in NJ, Chicago, Mexico, ect..

but you never really hear about them clashing with other gangs anymore or even the cartels.
