I know this a long shot, but does anyone on here have any history on the Deepdale Gardens Corporations in Queens? I'm trying to sell my co-op and ran into a problem - the half-bath in my bedroom is illegal according to the co-op's management office. I didn't put it in and I know the owners before me didn't put it in either and pretty sure the owners before them didn't do it. Several people who live and work in Deepdale told me that my apartment was a "model" apartment and it is very likely that the co-op put the half bath in sometime in the '70s. There are no permits filed for it with the NYC Buildings Dept and the co-op's management office has records going back only to 1987. The Corporations formed in 1950.
I've been google-ing anything and everything related to Deepdale and can't find anything.
Would anyone know the history or how I can find records?
Thanks for any help.

Default Use Caution!!

I've lived here for over 10yrs and canít wait to leave. The Management and Maintenance Dept here are corrupt and crooked and just look to screw over the shareholders and put their hand in your pocket as often as possible, to pay for over priced workers, under qualified Maintenance workers, A joke security officer who is just a meter maid and last but certainly not least Management that's as rude and disrespectful as they come. There needs to be a complete changing of the guard here and an end to the cronyism that is conducted here!! Shareholders need to unite and not squabble over petty things and instead stand up together as one, in order to make the quality of life better for all.

It's funny how little I know about Deepdale Gardens, considering I live in Glen Oaks, which in my opinion is very well run.

Weird bit of back searching for this ancient thread, but as long as someone else has dredged it up, let me air an annoyance of mine:

I find it STARTLING to see how some co-ops give so much authority to managing agencies instead of keeping it vested in the board of directors or the resident-owners.
Perhaps the problem has to do with electing friendly types to the board instead of those who can rub two brain cells together.

And then the friendly dimwits allow managing agencies to take over complete control.

Imagine the original posting where a MANAGING AGENT has taken it upon itself to declare a half bathoom "illegal."
