I'll be moving to NYC in early January. Hopefully by springtime I'll be settled in enough to have some free time to throw some discs.

Anyone play?

What courses do you recommend?

Is this the same as Frisbee Golf?

If so, the only one I have EVER seen, anywhere, is on the campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick NJ. It's about a 45 minute train ride from Penn Station.

I played once, and it was lots of fun. Weird, but fun.

Being a disc golfer in nyc is tough if you want to play regularly. As mentioned, Prospect Park has a course, but it's an ad hoc one where trees or posts are used instead or baskets. And Many of the holes are in areas where there are going to be people in the way depending on what day and time of day you go. I believe central park used to have a similar ad hoc course, but not anymore.

Looking at your moving thread, I see you'll most likely be uptown, honestly, your best bet is renting a car (or zipcar) and heading to campgaw in nj or FDR park or Leonard Park upstate. I like to rent a car and go to one of those or other ones a little further afield if I have the time.
