Default I have tickets that have turned into warrants.

And, I'd like to deal with them.

I have a feeling that NYC has little interest in trucking me over to Rikers Island, and that there has to be a way to just pay them what they want...what is it?

My boyfriend had to deal with a few weeks ago. He spoke to a friend who is a lawyer and he said that the best thing you can do is go to the courthouse that you were supposed to appear at if you were going to fight/pay the tickets. When he went and explained that he knew what the situation was they asked him to just pay the fine. But I think it depends how long overdue the payments are as well. His was only about 6 months overdue.

What were the traffic tickets for? Why didn't you answer them beforehand?

1) Open container - I wasn't even drinking it!

2) Sleeping on the subway cause it was raining and I had no other place to go

3) Being in the park after closing time.

Why I did'nt pay? I was homeless and had no money to pay the fines. Now I have a place to live and I'd like to clear my slate.

Honesty is the best way to go. As others stated, go to court and request to speak with a Judge to explain your situation.

Good luck.
