You may check this website for all the luxury apartment rentals in New York City. It has a very extensive list along with locations on google map. The contact phones and email addresses have also been indicated.

I hope you can find the suitable apartment.

If you want to live in Long Island, you might try looking in W. Babyon, Lindenhurst, etc. The home prices are in the $300's and the taxes I think are around 5000.

Lucky for you the economy on L.I. is getting worse so the houses are cheaper than they were! Try N. Bellmore - upper 3's and lower 4's for small places.

You should do research before you move to Long Island simply because a lot of towns do not welcome people of color. Before I get jumped on, let me tell you something, this is totally true.
How diverse do you want to be? Do you want NY (city) area or suburbs?
Long Island is very segregated--or at least Suffolk County is (I have no idea about Nassau County). Keep out of Roosevelt. They have had a lot of school problems/funding.
Long Island also has had a lot of school corruption (in various good and not so good school districts). Hopefully there is a handle on that now. I know at my son's school they have to ask you for checks now for EVERYTHING (no more cash for field trips and so on).

That's if you want NYC Metro area. If you want upstate... Ithaca was listed as very diverse. I like Ithaca, smaller city, really nice dowtown area, and they also have a great school system.

Warm weather-Sunny Days-Are you sure you didn't mean to post on the NC forum? Doesn't sound like the NY I live in. Sounds like you might be better off heading to the South West.
