I meant to say, I had not noticed that map.
And just for the record I didn't say the website didn't make sense, just it doesn't show an accurate picture of each neighborhood separately.
As for the pink coloring, I notice the biggest clusters around Jackson heights, east elmhurst, Corona and parts of Flushing. Are those neighborhood considered western Queens now?

I would think so.If you look a map of the whole borough it looks like Flushing meadow is pretty much the mid point going East to West.Elmhurst,Jackson Heights and Corona are all to the West of it.

Plus, a lot consider "Eastern Queens" to begin where the subway ends (so, everything west of Flushing & Jamaica would be Western Queens)
