I am currently living in Ethiopia, but grew up in Rialto, California (the Inland Empire). I would like to know what areas of New York are good to move to.

wayyyyyyyyyyy too general...people can't suggest the "best place" to live without knowing anything about you...

The best is often the most expensive. It's not really practical to give advice on these types of situations without knowing about your budget.

Honestly, your question is too vague...what's the "best" to one person may be unappealing to someone else. It really depends on what you're looking for.

If you grew up in Rialto, anything in NYC is going to be a step up. I should know, I grew up next door in San Bernardino.

That said, can you actually afford to live somewhere nice? I live in the UWS now and love it, but I used to live in Harlem and that was a lot less fun, but much cheaper.
