Some streets over here (Southeast Queens) are just physically blocked by snow, some drifts as high as 7-8 feet in the middle of the street. There's no bus service, the streets that are paved only have one lane paved, the LIRR is not operating. Cars are literally buried in the snow. Cars in parking lots are locked in due to the snow pack. People can't get anywhere. I think I saw one plow and that was at night during the blizzard, for the most part it's people with shovels and I saw one or two caterpillar trucks pushing snow out the way.

NYC got it's arse whipped this time around, it doesn't bother me though.

Haha I wonder how Manhattan looks, probably like nothing ever happened.

East Flatbush, Canarsie, Park Slope, Brooklyn on the whole is a disaster! The blizzard of '96 had a much better response than this. Mr. first time 3rd term Mayor WTH is going on? You left us NYawkers stranded, MTA buses not running due to unplowed streets, etc. C'mon, enough is enough!

No, Manhattan looks insane too, but plowed. There are still cars BURIED along the sides of the streets and snow drifts easily 7 feet high on sidewalks. On canal st there was a car that had obviously been on fire- completely burnt out and left abandoned on the side of the road. There were several other cars still abandoned off toward the side of major roads too.

Well I drove for the first time today... Can you say AWFUL!!! Brooklyn looks like a war zone. People just abandoned their cars. Streets being unplowed is just an understatement! Streets are just completely enclosed with snow barriers from major streets that where plowed. Idiots digging out their cars and tossing the snow right back in the streets. Pedestrians refusing to walk on the sidewalks even when they are cleared! A 45 min commute took me 2 1/2 hours! Yeah I was stuck for over an hour on some block! Dread guy was nice enuff to come help us. It's really the pits out here!!!

Ay caramba. I don't ever remember it being this bad. Bad as in inefficient. Supposedly an investigation is goin to be launched. Doesn't that cost tax money? A bloody effin investigation (unnecessary in my opinion). That money can be spent on better things.

Things are slowly improving, my block is passable, you can see the blacktop, but just a couple of blocks away the street hasn't been touched at all. We most certainly could use some rain this weekend to help with the melting process.

Walking to and from the supermarket is a challenge, it's
a balancing act trying to cross at the intersections. Where are all those "snow laborers" that were hired to help clear
the hydrants, crosswalks and to remove snow and ice from step streets in sections of Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island after heavy snowfalls.

A plow came through last night. With the melting on top of that we're good now.

They are too busy taking care of Times Square for the New year, don't let Dumberg fool you.
