Yeah Hipsters do have a tendency to ruin everything. To paraphrase the Sopranos a bit, they're like the opposite of King Midas, everything they touch turns to sh*t.

lol. Honestly? Yeah, I would. In fact I'd prefer to live around him.

Nothing pisses me off more than the Yuppie disease.

I live in LIC right now and its really nice. I looked recently in Brooklyn but its so expensive to buy there and its gotten so pretentious. I actually just bought something is north LIC and got a great deal (550 sqft studio with personal balcony overlooking midtown for UNDER $350K). I have to admit that LIC was a dump just 5 years ago but its really gone through such a great transformation. Its cleaned up without losing its neighborhoody feel.

I really like Long Island City, particularly that area near the waterfront. Also it's very quick to get to Manhattan. But only in New York City is a $350,000 studio considered a deal.

5 years ago at $350K......what the appreciation, now?

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout....buying in the dumps, and lettin' your property blow up!

Yes. I am offended. Please don't post any more pictures of white yuppies.

Look. These "you're a racist!" comments are boring. If you don't like the "tone" or the statement, or even the implication of an assertion, then REFUTE IT with an ARGUMENT.

And if you mention the color of your skin, your religion, or your preference of cat food, then be prepared for someone to give you good with the bad. It's part of life. Sulking and trying to moralize someone's thoughts is for losers.

The beauty of an online forum is that it's probably as close to John Rawl's "veil of ignorance" as you can get. Everyone comes on board just with an opinion and some keyboard skills. After that, it's up to you. No one knows your race.
