Please I hope jruss means no more new classes and not ours.please please please. And I hope they have some more after the winter for all the guys waiting, I know the feeling.
I have a question. Should I be going to buy my uniform, or should I be waiting for a final call before I buy it?
I thought the 13th at fbf was a done deal.
I work week to week so I didnt really have to give notice, but my boss knows about the sanitation.
thanks for any info.
If you went thru final processing then it is a done deal. Your in. You should wait on buying your uniform... they will tell you once you report to training when to be in uniform.
You should give your boss your 2 week notice...well at this point week and a half notice...
The only way this class doesn't go in is if the mayor's office in the last min decides to call off the class.... I doubt that would happen but it has happened before and it happened recently actually with another job title. I think last year sanitation was hiring auto mechanics and they put in their 2 week notice and everything ... then over the weekend a day before they started the mayor's office put a hiring freeze over everything thing which included them... so they had to be called and told that they couldn't be hired... alot of guys were upset and depressed because many of them left their old jobs already... Thankfully within 2 weeks the hiring freeze went off and they were able to be hired =)

Although anything is possible with this city I doubt they will put a hold on the 13th class....they are understaffed....I'm sure we would have been notified if this was the case but you can always call HR in the morning to check

I don't think j russ is correct but if it's true I'd be shocked cuz the city is paying us alot of overtime right now. Guys are making their charts left and right making a killing

the problem with that tho is people have been waiting for 2 years so some figured they cud smoke a joint or 2 why not and then they called us out of nowhere and the medical was the next day....and its a shame that people that use the least harmful drug of all will wind up failing the test when people who use harder drugs had enought time to clean it out.......and yes if u fail the drug test ur pretty much out u can try to fight it but i dont kno how much good it will do ya

i believe they give uniform check before at the end of the year before christmas and that most use it to buy presents... were not going to be getting one yet we have to wait for next year

Another question for guys OTJ: Being the new blood I doubt we are gonna make charts for a while but just wondering; when you get called in on your chart, how long do they give you to actually get to the garage???

Question for the guys that are on the job....do we get like a "dream sheet" to try and pick a specific garage or do you just pick the borough(s) you would like to work in....if so can you recommend garages in bk/qns where we might acutally make the truck and not be stuck on mlp
