Everyone is late at one time or another..BUT when you are on probation, be there one time, leave early to get to work. Have at least two alarm clocks. one next to your bed, the other across the room. Do not give them ammunition to fire you. You are a probey, they can do whatever they want to do. just get to work on time, the rest of the day is cake. This is still one of the greatest jobs in the city, dont lose it!

Default Mayor speaks about sanitation worker killed in Bronx traffic accident.

Mayor Bloomberg says his “thoughts and prayers” are with the family of a municipal sanitation worker who was struck and killed by a car.

Bloomberg said that 39-year-old Angel Roldan was hit by a car outside his sanitation garage in the Bronx on Tuesday.

Sanitation Commissioner John J. Doherty says Roldan was a “dedicated employee” and that he will be missed.
The driver of the car was being questioned by police.

No charges are expected to be filed.
The mayor said Roldan had worked for the Department of Sanitation for 11 years. He is survived by his wife, an 18-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son.
His wife, Rena, works for the police department as a traffic enforcement agent.

As Training ended today I was lingering around waiting to ask a supv a question and one of the other supv came by and said "We are closing, we had a death in the bronx just now" and I had to leave.
