I'm looking to get my foot in the door in the stock broking business, and have stumbled across a job application from John Thomas Financial, which is apparently located on Wall Street. They say they will except anyone with or without a degree, and will train and sponsor you for the necessary Series 7 exam/license. I was wondering if any of you local New Yorkers here on CD have any dirt on the place. If there's something I should know about any shady practices, or chop-shop type management. Also, while were on the subject, if anyone knows of any independent, or mainstream, brokerage firms that they reccomend, particularly with a lenient acceptance rate, please feel free to let me know.
I'm born n raised in Chicago, and currently been living down in this hell hole called New Orleans for the past 3 months. I hate the south with a burning passion and am looking to get back up north, particularly to NYC, because of the plentiful number brokerage/economic jobs around and available (and opportunities to better yourself- something unheard of in the south), and I have a few friends there as well to help ease the whole process.
