I signed up for a 5k next month in Staten Island. I plan on meeting up a friend who will also do this, from Queens. My plan is to head down to Jersey on saturday then just take I-278 across the river to SI. It won't be that far of a drive since family I'm staying with is right outside of Newark, and I'm familiar with that area. However, I have never been to SI and have no idea what to expect. The race is on a sunday morning at Clove Lakes Park. Does anybody know this area atall? I'd like to drive and my biggest concern at this point is there's someplace close I can leave my car without worrying about theft or anything. Any info would be appreciated.
