I have a NYCHA interview on April 12th 2010. My husband & I are on the Application. Right now there is a full order of protection against my husband that the court issued. I don't know how long it is going to be in effect for,so right now we can't live together untill the order is lifted. How is this going to effect my chances for housing & what do i tell them? He is the one who is working, not me. he is still paying the bills in our house. I actually have the WAP program & it is up on OCT 1st.i dont want to have to go back into the shelter system with a 3yr old again & not be eligable for housing. Can anyone help me? I waited 3yrs for this first interview.ow long is the process..etc.. Can anyone help me please?

as long as u have some type of legal income coming in they mwill accept ur income. if u show them ur paper work for the oop they will be ok believe me u r not the only one going thru a crisis u have women & men goin thru worst. so just be honest and relax but bring proof of income even if its court order child support. my mother inlaw brought in letter from her daughter saying that she babysits and get paid 75 a week & they accepted it, good luck by the way wat complex did u pick / interview for

Thanks for the response. I am not really worried about the income part because like i said my husband works. My main worry is the order of protection. As soon as the order is lifted from the courts we are going to live together again,i just want to know if they are going to allow him to come into housing with me,there are no felony charges. We are both on the application & entitled to a 2 bedroom,we have children. Are they still going to give me a 2 bedroom? My real ? is this. Is the order of protection going to effect my chances for him to come into housing with me? I have the interview on April 12th. Its the first interview,on atlantic ave in brooklyn. They haven't told me anything about what choices of housing i have yet. Please help
