In the near future, I will be moving apartments (probably about a 40 block difference). How much should I be expecting to pay for movers? I really have no idea, and want to factor this into my plans.

Some more details:
-in a share now but the only furniture/things I have is my bedroom (so essentially even less stuff than moving from a studio would be: only a dresser, desk, bookshelf, and bed)
-right now on the 4th floor of a walk-up. Ideally moving to elevator building.

It really just depends. I would call around for some quotes. We just moved but we moved to the burbs - so that was a big, expensive move. The last time I moved with in the city - it was only about $250 - but that was 7 years ago. They were musicians and they were these skinny, wiry guys that had me moved within 2 1/2 hours or so. They were flying! I would check the reviews on yelp and call around for some rates. It seemed to me that it was common for some places to charge around $110- $125 an hour - which includes 2-3 guys and a truck or van.
