Hey guys,

I'm looking to join a gym BUT I'm not joining for any kind of workout reasons. I'm already pretty fit.

I'm joining because I'd like to take fun classes. Dance classes (pole dance especially), street fighting, boxing, martial arts, self defense. Maybe even ones like yoga.

I hear that Crunch offers an insane number of classes, and looking at the website, the locations look pretty nice (and there's a lot!), plus they have saunas, etc.

Does anyone have a Crunch membership? How much are they paying for it? I did a quick fake membership and it looks like it'll be $90-something a month but does that include full use of the facilities?

Also, are there other gyms that offer a great variety of classes?

Basically what I'm looking for is:

(1) FUN classes (specifically pole dancing)
(2) Good amenities (pool/sauna/etc)
(3) CLEAN locker rooms. More than likely, I'll be using their showers, since the one at the apartment SUCKS and I'd want something pretty clean
(4) 24 Hours is a plus
(5) Not paying more than $100/month

Can anyone give any insight? Are there any periods when I can get a really good deal?

What gym do YOU use?

Check out Crunch gyms - they sound like they'll have the types of classes you're looking for.

Also, there's a new site in NYC that apparently will help you find fitness classes in NYC: http://coursehorse.com

I'm a Crunch member and yes some of the gyms offer pole dancing, kickboxing, and other classes.

Check out the website: www.crunch.com

One thing Crunch isn't 24 hours.

I've been with them since 2007, my contract is up but I pay $91.50/month and can visit any Crunch nationwide.

They have deals going on now so go online get you a pass, try it out and see if you like it.

I highly recommend Cat Walk Fitness! Cathy Wagner teaches great Pole Dancing classes! She has three locations, Huntington, Greenvale and Levittown.
