McKibben Lofts.. (rental, landlord, place to live)

Im a young photographer, my girlfriend, a makeup artists-hair stylist. these buildings seem to suit our needs fairly well. close to transit (L), big loft space, cheap rent (1200 is our limit), roof hangout, lots of young professionals, partys, films shown, etc.

BUT

i heard they have got a baddd bed bug problem

all the reports are from 2007-8ish
can anyone tell me if it this problem has cleared?!

also, i have heard the landlord is not kind. i have read he doesnt care about problems with the building. which is why partys go on and rents are so cheap..

is this true?

Bed Bugs? I wouldn't. Those are super bad news.

Otherwise I don't know much about the place, other than it's reputation as party central with the kiddies.

im 19, that sounds awesome, instead of having to pay to go out, i can party at home!

Like I said though the bedbug attacks were talked about a year ago, so im wondering if the problem has been solved.

I visited 248 McKibbin three times in the last four weeks to view 3 different lofts. They are nice spaces and affordable and since I need a live / work place I was so tempted to fill out the application. Called the fourth rental ad this past Tuesday but the guy didn't call back til today - I guessed it was my luck because I stumbled across bedbugregistry.com in the meantime. Now I no longer wonder why there are so many units available in such a, seemingly, cool place.
