Default NY roads that don't allow moving trucks

Hi All--

I will be driving a moving truck through NYC and into Westchester. The shortest route would be taking the GWB, then the Major Deegan, and then the Saw Mill Parkway.

But, I heard that the Saw Mill Parkway doesn't allow trucks (I have a 24' truck). Is this true, and if so, does this include moving trucks? Are there any other roads I should avoid?

Thanks!

taconic and sawmill dont allow it...684 is the way to go. You license plate cannot say "commerical" on it...check with the moving company to make sure...I know that when we moved 10 years ago..it was nightmare as we had to take the 684 to the 84..but again...just check to make sure.

Absolutely NO commercial traffic on the Saw Mill. You'd potentially risk getting stuck under one of the very lower overpasses. Aside from the summons...

you are not allowed to drive a commercial truck on any of NY state parkways !!!

good luck, try google maps and go by local roads.. a bit longer but you'll avoid traffic tickets..

Remember this: Commercial trucks ALWAYS use an Expressway never a Parkway.
