Default Neighborhood Check :)

So im moving to NYC July 1 for work and am just wondering what the area around my place is going to be like. Im mostly wondering about safety (night only), vibe, and nightlife.

excited to move out, looking forward to the advice.

Just don't head to the east, as in Avenue D, where there are projects. The immediate area, and adjacent areas are fine. However, there is a danger lurking around the corner from your proposed location, per the map link. And, it's a clear and present danger, at least if you have a sweet tooth -- Economy Candy on Rivington, a true old-fashioned NYC candy store with too many goodies for sale.

Plenty of nightlife around there. Katz's Deli, too.

I love that area. Lots to do at night. Check out the Hotel on Rivington. It's very fun. The only problem I have ever had was sometimes it was hard to get a taxi at night because it's so crowded. Althought you can walk home!

The LES is one of my favorite neighborhoods, adn don't worry about those pesky housing projects, they are not what they used to be. They are still somewhat trouble, but so long as you are not hanging with the homies at 2am in the projects, it will be a non-issue.
